Matt Smith: Philanthropy Program Taught Kids Lessons

Eighth-grade students and staff of the Winona Middle School participated in the Youth In Philanthropy program.

Students learned that to streghthen our community you must be willing to give back to the community.

Students practiced their decision-making skills by being given the responsibility of allocating grant funds to many of the organizations that applied.

Students also learned that feeling empathy for others was valuable.
